At Wagoner Drone Services (WDS), we bring advanced thermal technology and scientific data collection to local business owners, commercial property managers, agricultural producers, and outdoor enthusiasts across Joplin, Carthage, Webb City, Neosho, and the surrounding region. We do not just fly cameras—we deliver precise data that helps you protect your valuable assets.
My passion for science started when I was young. It naturally led me to a career in medicine, where paying attention to small details and getting clear answers are critical. Outside of medical care, that same interest fueled my hobbies in astronomy, astrophotography, and amateur radio—a tradition I share with my daughter.
I have always loved aviation, even though I knew I would never fly traditional airplanes. In December 2025, my son took a high school drone class and earned his remote pilot certification. Sharing that interest with him inspired me to dive in as well. Shortly after, I completed my ground school training through UAV Coach and earned my FAA certification. I quickly realized that unmanned aircraft were the ultimate mix of flight, physics, and imaging technology.
Setting up Wagoner Drone Services allowed me to turn this passion into a modern, tech-driven service for Southwest Missouri. It was about bringing high-tech diagnostic tools directly to our hard-working communities.
Standard aerial photography is common, but true thermal capability is rare. To bring real value to our community, I pursued specialized training through the Infraspection Institute, earning Level 1 sUAS, Level 2, and Level 3 Thermal Certifications.
As a Level 3 Thermographer, I use heat-sensing cameras to find hidden problem areas that regular visual drones simply cannot see. For example, water trapped beneath a commercial flat roof membrane can sit hidden in the insulation for decades, slowly damaging the structure long before you ever see a drip inside the building.
Our most important promise to you is complete independence:
We do not sell roofs.
We do not perform contractor repair work.
We have zero conflict of interest.
When we evaluate a commercial roof, building envelope, or residential property, our only job is to give you accurate, scientific data. We pinpoint problem areas objectively. That way, you can take our reports directly to your trusted local contractor with clear proof and complete confidence.
Drawing on my background in astrophotography, our mapping methods deliver high detail and precision. Using our advanced RTK fleet—Helios (Autel EVO II Dual 640T RTK v3) and Hyperion (Autel EVO II 6K Pro RTK v3)—we create sharp 2D and 3D maps.
We also combine aerial shots with ground-based Insta360 cameras and Kuula software to create interactive 360-degree virtual tours for local real estate and regional properties.
We are proud to make advanced thermal imaging, crop stress reports, livestock location services, and precise mapping accessible right here in Jasper and Newton counties—delivering big-city capability with honest, local reliability.
